Research Related to Less-Lethal Weapons

TMI is proud to participate in the nationally-funded, Department of Justice study regarding the medical effects of less-lethal weapons under the direction of William P. Bozeman, MD, FACEP.

Research Related to Product Evalutation

TMI is also currently researching several products for development.

TMI has also agreed to collect subjective data on users’ perceptions of the SWAT-T tourniquet. TMI is happy to conduct independent research and collect data for reputable companies, organizations, and agencies.

TMI previously conducted similar research on the M-9 bag, and the Mini-EKG.  Published reports on both can be found in the Product Information section of this website.

Research Related to Heat Ilness

TMI continues to be the “tip of the spear” when it comes to research into heat illness and hydration in the Tactical Athlete.  In addition to inventing the KEHIS Scale, and introducing the Urine Color Chart to the tactical community, TMI continues to research topics on behalf of Law Enforcement and the U.S. Military.  TMI members remain consultants and investigators into these topics, and K-9 heat illness, cooling vests, and ballistic vests.
